Alhamdullillah 1988 saw the birth and establishment of Madressa Zia-Ul-Badr in Johannesburg, South Africa with the mashwarah and advice of senior Ulama (Hazrat ML. Abdul Gaffar Nadwi, Hafez Dawood Daya, ML. Ismail Abdul Razzack, ML. Cassim Sema and ML. Mohammed Hassim R.A.) and some local prominent ulema aiming to fulfil the heartfelt dream of educating and addressing the needs of those entering the fold of Islam as well as muslims facing the challenges of having non-muslim family or tribal members.
Alhamdullilah, since our humble beginning with only 3 students, the MAdressah has grown and currently accommodates 70 full-time students and an additional 35 part-time students who are at Ikhlaas Mussallah, Jappestown. These learners hail from South Africa and 16 other neighbouring African countries. The Madressa complex which is situated between Marshall, Main, Kerk and Hout Street, Jeppestown encompasses a masjid, hostel, kitchen, dining hall and accommodation for staff and their families..
The prime aim of Madressa Zia-Ul-Badr is to fulfil the existing needs of those entering the fold of Islam who are mostly from lower income communities and face numerous social, economics or other challenges such as poverty, mixed marriages, broken homes and abandonment. These individuals are also continuously subjected to misleading information about Islam. Madressa Zia-Ul-Badr aims to provide a high standard of education to its students so as to ensure the continual propagation of Islam in their communities. As a result of these conditions. it is understandable that most of our students are confirmed Zakkat recipients.
Up to the end of the year 2017, Madressa Zia-Ul-Badr has produce 95 Hafiz ul Quraan, many of whom went on to study further and completed Aalimiyat courses at various Darul Ulooms or obtained higher educational levels at other tertiary institutions. Alhamdulillah, this clearly demonstrates and shows the success of Madressa Zia-Ul-Badr accomplishing the mandate and vision envisaged by its founders and board of trustees.
Madressa Zia-Ul-Badr has also been blesses to receive many eminent Akaabireen & learned scholars from around the world

This incident happened about 25 years ago and it planted a seed and a dream of opening a home which eventually today became a goal in reality by the opening of Zia-ul-Badr Mothers home in Jeppestown, Johannesburg.
Madressa Zia-ul-Badr Mothers home will be a home for Muslim women who need a place of comfort to stay in their old age where they can be cared for.
It was a bitterly cold Johannesburg winters evening when Qari Moosa Seedat received a call from a long standing friend who was always involved in community services. An elderly Muslim lady from the community had not been seen for a couple of days and was not answering various forms of communication by the people attempting to get hold of her. The Qari immediately notified the police and fire department and together they went to investigate the situation.
On arrival they knocked numerous times on the door and when there was no reply they peered through the window. They noticed that the house keys were on a table near the door, convincing them that the lady was inside the house. The fire department proceeded to unlock the door and what they found inside was something Qari Moosa vowed that he never want to see again. The women had died days ago and her body was decomposing already. Her children lived overseas so she was staying all by herself without anyone to care for her . Seeing a muslim mother/sister like this had a profound effect on the Qari. An incident he will never forget.
The Need for a fathers home was born on the success of MZB Mother home which was established in September 2014. Through the grace and blessing of the Almighty ALLAH (SWT) we have successfully completed this project in a mere 10 Months and on the 9th August 2017 Hzt ML Abbaas Ali Zuber Ali SHB opened the doors to MZB Fathers Home.
Taking Lessons from MZB Mother Home we have created this facility with state of the art technologies and even more comforts. Maintaining an Islamic Ethos and environment remains the key objective of all MZB Projects.
Madressa Zia-ul-Badr Fathers Home will be a home for Muslim men who need a place of comfort to stay in their old age where they can be cared for.
Our Dream, with the help and blessing of the Almighty ALLAH is to construct a Islamic Retirement Village for Mother and Fathers who are still able to live on thier own without any assistance. The Construction of this village requires a capital injection of R 30,000,000. We have accuired and ear maked the land on which we intend to construct Our Dream In Shaa Allah
